We propped Oliver up in our bed tonight and just watched him for awhile... That kid is so entertaining!

3 weeks old + first time bottle = a weepy Mama!

The nurses at Providence, Dr. Bengtson and our lactation consultant all said to give a bottle between 3 and 4 weeks, as that's the best time in a newborns life to try something new. So we wasted no time giving it a try today as Oliver turned 3 weeks old! John sat with him in the glider and the kid took the bottle instantly. I almost burst into tears... Our baby is getting so big! And I'm so glad John gets to experience this, too. I get to bond with Oliver so much during our multiple nursing sessions each day and want John to have that time with him as well. Now let's just hope he doesn't have any trouble going back to the breast at the next feeding!

Bye bye umbilical cord stump!

Just now as I was changing Oliver's diaper, his umbilical cord stump fell off! What a big boy :)

A smile caught on camera!

After shoving the camera in Oliver's face several times today, we caught a smile in action. And of course, my voice reached several octaves higher as I squealed in excitement at such an event! This kid makes us so damn happy.

Thank God for the Moby wrap

I finally figured out how to wear the Moby wrap today and got Oliver in there safe & snug... He cried for about 20 seconds, then fell asleep! This thing is incredible. He loves to be close when falling asleep, so I have a feeling this is our new best friend. Check us out in action:
